Our Staff

Ian Kennedy — Director

Ian came into the Roadshow organisation in 1991, after 12 years of secondary science teaching in Christchurch and Lower Hutt.

In his early Roadshow days he was continually on the road with the Telecom Technology-Science Roadshow as Manager. Over the years Ian has been instrumental in facilitating the development of many other Roadshow initiatives. His role as Director is more heavily focussed toward organisational administration, programme development and funding. But from time to time he can still be found out on the “road”.

Ian has been Vice-President of the Australasian Science and Technology Exhibition Network as well as Treasurer of Association of Science and Technology Centres (NZ). He has received a Royal Society of New Zealand medal in recognition of his services to science and technology promotion and education and was also CEO of Joule - New Zealand's Science and Technology Promotion Hub. He is now serving on UNESCO's Science Sub-commission.

Dave McLeod — Operations Manager

Dave brings management and technical expertise to the Roadshow gleaned from his experience in the horticultural industry. He has completed three formal qualifications in horticulture and possesses a diverse range of practical, technical, and IT skills. This makes him ideally suited to this position. His duties include Manager, Presenter, Truck Driver, Mechanic and IT Support.

Maureen Jones — Administration Manager

You name it, Maureen does it... the person in our organisation who ensures everything happens on time, that everyone is where they need to be, that our visitors know when and where we are, and that our finances are straight.

Caroline Kennedy — Multimedia Designer

Caroline has studied fine arts, graphic design and multimedia, and has tertiary qualifications in each. She looks after the print and website design and graphics work for the Roadshow and enjoys all the challenges that the Roadshow offers.

Andrew Beale — Science Roadshow Manager

Andrew has spent twenty years acting and directing stage shows in his home region of Taranaki. He came to the Science Roadshow after deciding life as a retail manager was not for him. The Roadshow provides three things he greatly enjoys: Acting, working with children, and travel throughout the country. So far the experience has been beyond his expectations and he hopes to be with the Roadshow for many years to come.

Shane Kingston — Assistant Manager/Driver

Prior to joining the Roadshow, Shane spent 2 years with child youth and family, and 8 years as a fire fighter with the RNZAF. He enjoys working with kids and has a background in children’s camping and Sunday school work. He is married to Anna and has three fantastic children; Joshua, Issac and Levi. Shane has been with the Roadshow since April 2007.

Warwick Snow — Driver/Presenter

Warwick drives trucks and is a presenter on the Fonterra Science Roadshow.
